HISTORY
The founder, Joana Borges, graduated in Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon and completed her internship with the Bar Association at the Lisbon Regional Council.
In 2014, he returned to Faial, the island where he was born, and began practicing law independently. Since then, he has built a solid and independent career based on proximity to clients, clear legal solutions, and rigorous defense of individual and collective rights.
With offices located in the city of Horta, it currently has a team of two forensic staff members who handle the administrative and technical management of an increasingly comprehensive service.
In addition to traditional legal services—in the areas of criminal, civil, and family law—the firm provides a wide range of extrajudicial services, such as online registrations, notary services, certified translations, and apostille requests, as well as support in immigration and inheritance proceedings.
In 2018, a project was created specifically for non-resident foreigners who find the Azores the ideal place to live or invest. This service, provided in Portuguese and English, offers comprehensive legal support in the purchase and sale of real estate, representation in deeds, payment management through escrow accounts, tax calculation, and assistance in complying with tax obligations remotely.
